Curved glass

Curved glass

Curved glass is a kind of translucent sheet material that receives the required bending radius during heat treatment. The product is characterized by a uniform thickness, and does not distort the visual review. Glass with a radius bend is in demand in construction, is widely used in furniture decoration, and for the manufacture of complex interior compositions. Due to its high strength, curved tempered glass is designed for increased loads.

MD glass is a leading provider of glass structures for the office and home. Equipping production facilities with advanced equipment allows us to produce various types of glass and products from them to order, taking into account the wishes of the client.

Manufacturing features of curved glass

The production of bent glass is a complex heat-treatment process. Strong heating provides deformation of the sheet material with subsequent bending. The procedure is a bending of the sheet giving it a given curvilinear shape. For these purposes, canvases with a processed edge, facet, and matted sheets are suitable.

Bent glass is produced in a special furnace with ceramic heaters and the necessary equipment. The feedstock is placed in a furnace, where it is uniformly heated to 600-700 °C. The glass softens and takes the form of a template. After that, the sheets are cooled to room temperature, and they harden. The processing time can be up to 10 hours. To give additional strength to the finished product, it is subjected to hardening.

Varieties

Radially curved glass is made to order. The raw material for its manufacture is transparent, clarified glass, tinted, mass-dyed sheets, and satin. Curved glass can be used for the production of a bent triplex.
