What is laminated glass?

Unlike normal glass, laminated glass is a safety glass that is produced by pressing a PVB film (plastic intermediate layer) between two pieces of glass. In other words, if the glass breaks, the intermediate layer holds the entire part together and provides residual load-bearing capacity. This prevents a hole from being created through which someone can penetrate or in which large fragments could lead to cuts or stab wounds.

The transformation of the glass not only increases safety, it can also have a decorative effect thanks to our wide range of finished products with:

 customized dimensions

Possibility to combine two panes of glass

decorative processing or technical functions that can be inserted between the panes of glass (printed film, fabric, fabric, active films, safety insert, etc.)

Laminated safety glass is used in buildings and products related to living. It is also used in the automotive and transportation industries. It plays a big role in overhead glazing such as skylights, glass ceilings, roofs, and greenhouses.

Safety glazing for comfort and well-being!

In the event of an impact, the intermediate layer of the laminated glass keeps the glass layers glued together and their great strength prevents them from breaking into large, sharp-edged parts. Feel safe and in good hands and increase your well-being with our glass solutions.

Remember that safety glass can be combined with other glass functions for additional comfort: thermal insulation, soundproofing, easy-care glass, decorative glass and anti- burglary glass.

Manufacture of laminated glass

Laminated glass can be manufactured using two different processes: with a roller / roller press or with the aid of the vacuum process. With both types, at least two panes of glass and the PVB film are placed on top of one another, heated and then pressed together using one of these methods. In the autoclave, the glass panes are permanently connected to one another by means of heat. Further processing, such as cutting or grinding, can then be carried out.
